Programs

MobileIGNITE is an independent multi-lateral industry association committed to FMC solutions that build on standards such as CDMA, GSM, UMTS, SIP, IMS and 802.11/16.   MobileIGNITE maintains two working groups that work to bring to the industry common use cases, interoperability test cases and requirements from the baseline standards on which FMC applications are based.  The two groups are the marketing group and the interoperability group.

Interoperability Group

The focus of the interoperability group is to provide the technical framework and process to enable MobileIGNITE to demonstrate interoperability of end-to-end Fixed Mobile Convergence Solutions.  The key programs the group is currently focusing on are:

• IP Centrex (SIP) to mobile network (SS7 and IMS) inter-working
• IMS based VoIP over Wi-Fi to circuit switched cellular voice call handover network to handset interoperability based on emerging Voice Call Continuity standards in 3GPP and 3GPP2
• Mobile/SIP based messaging and presence inter-working

Marketing Group

The marketing group is focused on developing the groups collective thought leadership for communications convergence to the industry by participating jointly at conference and in bringing awareness to the interoperability group’s findings.
